As summer arrives the types of applications the MicroLog can be used for only seem to be increasing. We describe how United, an Israel based distributor for Fourier, have made a splash by recently introducing yet another new customer to the MicroLogPLUS solution. Having previously sold a large country club flow meters and flow switches Golan Tsadok, Production Manager from United decided to present the MicroLogPLUS as a key answer to around the clock monitoring for the club's swimming pools.
It's important for any public swimming pool to ensure the pool water falls within certain governmental guidelines for health and safety. However, for a prestigious country club the swimming pools for the members must have water quality constantly measured. Ph, fluoride and redox levels must continually be monitored. The swimming pool's machine room is 90m from the office where the PC is situated and given the environment and distance cables cannot be lined the entire distance from the machine room to the office. Furthermore, there are three rooms like this all in separate locations across the country club, each 100m apart from each other.
United installed for the customer twelve MicroLog's with cradles, external antennae and receiver. 4 – 20 mili amps adapters are connected to the Ph, fluoride and redox controllers. Each output is connected to one MicroLog, with the data transmitted wirelessly to the PC via the receiver.
The data is collected every minute and provides the person in charge of pool maintenance a constant and online perspective on the quality of the water in the pool. When thresholds are crossed in the swimming pool he receives alarm alerts both on screen and should he be out of the office via SMS. The chemical balance in the pool can then be adjusted accordingly. The staff of the country club, who are new to this type of software monitoring, have found the MicroLab software very user-friendly and intuitive.
