Robert Bryce, Technical Services Coordinator at the School of Health Sciences, University of Canberra is very pleased with his recent MicroLog Solution System Implementation. He estimates they have made a saving of $25,000 in replacing damaged materials alone.
"The University of Canberra purchased thirty two (32) MicroLogs to monitor the temperature in three (3) cold rooms, eight (8) -80ºC temperature freezers and twenty one ( 21) -30ºC all containing valuable research and reference material. Initial concerns about the possibility of wireless transmission across four floors and two wings of a steel and concrete slab building proved unfounded. By careful placement of two Repeater units, the MicroLogs successfully monitor the temperatures 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. We have linked the monitoring system to our Duty Officers mobile phones and in the last 12 months have had early warning of two cold room failures. We estimate this has saved us about $25,000 in replacement of damaged reagents and other materials."
