When the MicroLite is placed in below freezing conditions, the LCD screen does not operate correctly. Why?

All standard LCD screens, when placed in below freezing temperatures, suffer from loss of performance due to the liquid crystal compound inside the screen reacting differently in such conditions. The data on the screen may not appear to be scrolling as fast and may even seem inaccurate. Once the LCD screen warms up and reaches normal temperatures again, it will begin to display correctly.
